Shinagawa is known as the place where the local fishermen started "Nori Farm." This Nori store has been the only Nori store in Tachiai-gawa area and in business since 1924. It has the nostalgic atmosphere of traditional nori/green tea store where you can still see the original storage case. They buy nori seaweed from all over Japan and make nori at their own factory. Traditionally, Nori stores has also sold green teas because their high seasons alternate, Nori is in summer and green tea in winter. Also, the method to store the merchandise is the same, keeping cool and dry. This store still keeps such traditions and sells Nori and green teas only. It also has history of sheltering Ryoma Sakamoto when he was in twenty's and it has his statue in front of the store. You will feel the historic moment for "Bakumatsu," the end of Samurai era and beginning of Modern Japan.
