This traditional Japanese goods store has been in business almost a century, since 1923. As you open the door, you will be welcomed by all varieties of colorful paper lanterns. You can also buy traditional Japanese goods such as "Noren" (short split curtains often used as a store sign), "Happi" (straight-sleeve Jacket made of cotton) and "Nezuke" (small charm with string). Basically they make their goods in bulk by order, but they also offer pre-made items for individual sales. Some of the paper lanterns can be folded and packed into a small box, which is perfect for a souvenir or gift. The ones with "Ukiyo-e" (traditional Japanese painting) are especially popular among foreigners. Some items such as "Tenugui" (thin hand towel) and "Furoshiki" (square wrapping cloth) are recently betting popular even among Japanese as they re-discover the beauty of the old traditional Japanese culture.
